Gluten Free & Organic Colloidal Oatmeal:

Colloidal oatmeal (avena sativa) is a natural, raw material made from finely milling whole oat grains into a standardized particle size. This allows the very fine oat particles to evenly disperse and suspend in water, hence making it a colloid. This colloidal property allows the particles to form a protective, moisture-locking film on the skin when added to bathwater (and other skincare products). 

Colloidal oatmeal contains many constituents that contribute to it's beneficial properties for skincare:

• Starch and beta glucans: skin protectant & water-holding properties
• Saponins: gentle cleansing action
• Plant phenols, known as Avenanthramides: antioxidant & anti-inflammatory actions
• Oat lipids: moisturize, nourish, and soften skin

Magnesium Flakes:

The magnesium flakes we use are pure magnesium chloride in their natural state, harvested from the Zechstein Seabed in the Netherlands.

Over 250 million years ago, the Zechstein Sea was a concentrated inland salt water sea (similar to the Dead Sea), free of any man-made pollutants or impurities. Back then, magnesium chloride (a natural salt of magnesium) could be gathered in abundance - over time, these waters found their way deep into underground deposits. Although the ancient Zechstein Sea no longer exists, the Zechstein salt beds remain - where pure magnesium chloride flakes are harvested from 2 miles beneath the Earth’s surface - free of contaminants.

Taking a bath with pure magnesium chloride flakes - in their most natural form - allows for transdermal absorption of the macro-mineral, which is best absorbed and assimilated by the body through the skin (versus oral supplementation). Approximately 75% of adults are magnesium deficient, which can largely be attributed to mass agriculture depleting the mineral content of the soil in which our food is grown. As the second most abundant element within human cells, this crucial mineral serves as a regulator for hundreds of biochemical reactions within the body. Magnesium is necessary for basic life processes: energy production within cells, nerve & muscle function, bone strength, cholesterol regulation, blood sugar/pressure regulation, hormone, protein, & DNA synthesis/protection, heart function, and electrolyte balance, just to name a few.

Pink Himalayan Salt:

Pink Himalayan salt is mined from the Indus Valley region of Pakistan. Similar to the Ancient Zechstein Seabed magnesium flakes, pink Himalayan salt crystals are the remains of evaporated ancient seabeds, prior to the existence of man-made pollutants, resulting in the purest form of salt found on the planet.
